Usually an incident that is not the direct cause for an issue, but something which puts a person's, place's or thing's point of stress past the threshold of causing consequences.
It wasn't the lack of candy sales which caused the drive-in to close; those sales were just the straw that broke the camel's back.

suitor, noun

A male who courts a lady in hopes to someday woe her, and convince her father, into marriage.
Betty's suitor is quite a stunning young chap.

supper, noun

/sup-per/

A full meal which occurs in place of dinner. Individuals who fancy the use of this word instead of "dinner" will then refer to lunch, the mid-day meal, as "dinner."
I had a big dinner earlier today, but I'm thinking about eating supper at the market later.

swell

A declaration that whatever it is you're doing is pretty fantastic. This could also emphasize the mood you're in, or your current health status.
The doctor says I'm still kicking along, and that's just swell to me.

Lollygagging with no intent to complete any useful task or chore.
Don't just sit there with a thumb up your ass, Jack. Get over here and help me lower the rumble seat.

trousers, noun

A pair of pants of lower class and quality than slacks. Typical trousers will consist of work pants, jeans, or other pants made from heavier materials.
I'll need to pick up another pair of trousers as I've just ripped me a hole in these.

Male underwear.

Underpants, garments, or underwear.

yardarts, noun

/yar-d dar-ts/

A game commonly played by children and cocktail induced adults where colorful circles would be placed or drawn in the grass, and sharp dangerous dart like objects were thrusted at those circles in hopes to make it inside them for points. YarDarts have since been discontinued, in the classic fashion, due to their sharp dangerous components.
You should come over for our cocktail party this weekend, Jane. It'll be a gay old time as we'll be playing YarDarts until someone pokes an eye out.
